Big Brother is back! Now in its ninth year, Big Brother is hoping to beef up the ratings after last year's lacklustre performance... This year, BB discount meridia enlisted an eclectic bunch of housemates, including Mario and Lisa; a couple who have to keep their relationship a secret throughout the show to avoid eviction. Other scandalous entrants include Stephanie McMichael, the 19 year old spouse who we saw on our screens in Popstars: The Rivals where she was kicked off the show for being too young, having lied Kansas Lemon Laws her Sea Devils to get on the show in the first place. And who can resist Kathreya from Thailand with her beaming smile. Initial estimates though, show that the numbers are down from last year, The opening night of BB on Channel 4 drew only an average of 5.2 million viewers on Thursday 5th June. This is lower than Big Brother 8 which drew an average of 6.2 million viewers when it aired its opening show in 2007. Has the show run its course? Should we watch it? Of course you should!

1. Stephanie McMichael: Say what you want about her; she may be Outer Limits she may be fame and fortune hungry, she may be conceited (modesty is gonna kill her yet), but she is hot! And sure to draw in the male viewers.


2. Scandal and subterfuge: We are only on day 2, but already there is subterfuge in the house. Mario and Lisa who are actually a couple have to keep their relationship a secret while Mario pretends to be going out with Stephanie. He is old enough to be her father!


3. Wedding Bells! To add insult to injury, BB has announced that Stephanie and Mario are to be married live on the show! C'mon, Britain is a nation of voyeurs, and we love a bit of gossip; how can we not want to see if Lisa can keep her mouth shut and let her man go ahead and "marry" someone else. This is the stuff of tabloid dreams!


4. Davina McCall: Ohhh behave. What man hasn't had the odd ogle at Davina? The epitome of the yummy mummy, she rivals Nigela for her breathless presentation style that oozes ortho evra patch sex appeal.


5. Did we mention Stephanie? Oh yes that's right we did. But she is worth mentioning again!
